Synopsis

Summary

This story follows the alternating narratives of Cody and Autumn. Cody’s tumultuous home life is marked by neglect and abuse, but he’s a resilient and smart student who masks his struggles with humor. Meanwhile, Autumn comes from a wealthy Indigenous family and she’s unhappy with the fact that she’s ‘in’ with the popular crowd. One night, Autumn is on her way home from a movie when she discovers Cody lying in distress near her house. Cody can’t endure any more violent encounters with his father, so Autumn offers him refuge in her father’s art studio.
